Support Manager - Nationwide

Salary Frequency  

Willmott Dixon is currently looking to recruit for a Support Manager this role will be based Nationwide. The main purpose of the role is to manage and lead a support team, comprising of helpdesk and field support. Dealing with support issues that affect the business, reporting these through the IS monthly management meeting report. To effectively manage support projects into the business. 

The successful applicant will ideally have recent experience of managing remote field support teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, motivate and retain staff within the team.
  • Effectively and efficiently provide desktop assistance , support and cover to all business unit users using helpdesk logging system.
  • To ensure the status of the teams asset registers. 
  • Liaise as necessary with other teams within the department. 

Essential & Desirable Criteria

Successful Candidates will possess solid commercial IT experience gained in a support environment, in a team leader or managerial position such as a Service Desk Team Leader / Helpdesk Manager / Field Support Manager. Experience should be backed by relevant formal demonstrable qualifications. 

In addition they will have demonstrate strong trouble shooting skills and a rational approach to problem management. Excellent communication skills are a prerequisite as is the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. Full UK Driving Licence essential. 

Proven Experience of:
• Windows 7 
• Active Directory 
• Project Work 

Proven Experience of:
• Managing a team of technical staff
• Proactively liaising with staff in a non-technical manner 
• Managing difficult users 
• Resolving conflict 

Proven Experience of:
• Reading and accurately interpreting technical specifications and plans 
• Ensuring support teams understanding of IT protocols and procedures 

Qualifications and Memberships

ITIL Foundation
MCP or equivalent in latest OS

Prince 2 Foundation
